Quality & transparency

Tested. Twice.

Every PawVolt batch is independently tested before it goes into a jar — assayed against its label spec, screened for heavy metals, microbials and pesticides. Below is exactly what we test, how we make it, and how to verify the supplement in your hand.

Why this page exists

The pet-supplement industry is mostly self-regulated. We don't think that's good enough.

Brands routinely put numbers on a label without ever verifying the chew actually contains those doses. Proprietary blends hide individual amounts. Heavy metals and microbial contamination slip through because no one's looking.

Third-party testing means an independent lab — one with no financial relationship to us — verifies what's in our product before it ships. We pay for it, we keep the reports, and you can request the Certificate of Analysis for the exact batch in your hand.

What we test

Four checks. Every batch. No exceptions.

01

Identity

Is what's on the label actually what's in the jar?

Every active ingredient — glucosamine, chondroitin, MSM, omega-3, probiotic strains, L-theanine, the lot — is verified by HPLC, GC-MS or qPCR fingerprinting against the raw-material specification. No surprise substitutions, no botanical look-alikes.

  • HPLC / GC-MS for actives
  • qPCR strain ID for probiotics
  • Botanical authentication for herbs
02

Potency

The dose on the label is the dose in the chew.

Every batch is assayed against its label dose at release and again near end of shelf life. If a batch tests below spec — even by a few percent — it doesn't get released. Probiotics are counted in live CFU at end of shelf life, not at manufacture.

  • Assay vs. label spec at release
  • End-of-shelf-life CFU for probiotics
  • Reject & rework if out of spec
03

Heavy metals

Lead, mercury, cadmium, arsenic — measured, not assumed.

Screened by ICP-MS against California Prop 65 thresholds, which are stricter than most pet-supplement standards. Plant-derived ingredients (turmeric, chamomile, hemp) get extra scrutiny because they accumulate metals from soil.

  • Lead, mercury, cadmium, arsenic
  • ICP-MS, Prop 65 limits
  • Extra checks on botanicals
04

Microbials & pesticides

A soft chew can grow things a dry capsule can't.

Total aerobic count, yeast, mold, Salmonella and E. coli — tested to stricter limits than dry-capsule supplements. Every botanical also gets a pesticide-residue panel run against EPA tolerances, with residual-solvent screening on extracts.

  • Salmonella / E. coli (absent)
  • Yeast, mold, total aerobic count
  • Pesticide & solvent residues
How we manufacture

Made in Canada, in a cGMP facility, with every lot numbered.

Made in Canada in a cGMP facility and third-party tested for purity and potency — every batch. cGMP — Good Manufacturing Practice — means the facility is audited for sanitation, ingredient handling, equipment validation, batch records and quality control by Health Canada.

Every batch carries a unique lot number printed on the bottom of the jar in the format PV-XXXX-MMYY. That lot ties to its production run, its raw-material lot numbers, its assay results and the COA we hold on file.

  • Third-party tested, every batch
  • cGMP-compliant facility
  • No artificial colors, flavors or preservatives
  • No corn, soy or wheat
  • Scientifically formulated by veterinary advisors
  • Recyclable HDPE jar

Storage & shelf life

Every jar shows a Best By date 24 months from manufacture. Store cool, dry, and out of direct sunlight; keep the lid sealed between doses. Once opened, use within 90 days for full probiotic potency, 6 months for everything else.

Our promise

If a batch doesn't meet spec, it doesn't ship. If a customer asks for a COA, they get it. If a result ever changes how we formulate, we tell you. That's the standard we hold ourselves to — because it's the standard a serious dog parent deserves.
